As a Data Centre Technician, you will work with one of the most cutting edge data centres in the world, changing the face of cloud technology in Australia. You will be the primary contact for both internal customers (Network Engineers, Software Developers, Operations and Database Engineers) and external customers.

Role Responsibilities:
• Technical Support; prime for data centre technical support, problem solving and maintaining a high level of system reliability as well as resolving trouble tickets

• Mentoring; share knowledge and help educate junior members of staff on best practices and service issues

Qualifications and Experience sought:
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with high availability networks and systems, network operations or incident response (Data Centre related support)
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a NOC environment, network support, systems support or a combination of all
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix administration
• Experience with hardware virtualization technologies and server hardware troubleshooting experience
• Hands on experience of Network Protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies
• strong knowledge of Network Hardware: Copper and Optical Fibre Cabling, Switches & Routers
• Preferred knowledge in: Server Booting: POST, BOIS, PXE, Kickstart, Grub/LILO
• Preferred knowledge in Scripting; Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby

My client is currently undergoing hyper-growth in Australia as they build their technical operations further. We are recruiting a Data Centre Critical Facilities Audit Engineer to be based in Sydney and work as part of a global Data Centre Operations team.

As a Data Centre Critical Facilities Audit Engineer, you will work with one of the most cutting edge data centres in the world, changing the face of cloud technology in Australia. You will be the primary contact for both internal customers (Network Engineers, Software Developers, Operations and Database Engineers) and external customers.

Role Responsibilities:
 Facility reviews and performing regular follow-up visits to ensure correction of all deficiencies.
 Daily responsibilities include reviewing the entire data centre lifecycle: the design, construction, commissioning, and oversight of the critical environments operations.
 Executing periodic audits throughout different global regions
 Providing direct influence over all expansion designs for construction of new data centre builds, legacy facility upgrades, and general capital endeavours
 Performing safety and security inspections of facilities
 Reviewing documents
 Creating standards and specifications
 Reviewing adherence to standards and specifications
 Providing operational support including reviewing procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives

Qualifications sought:
 Cumulative 4-7 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical engineering service/ design
 2-5 Years of Data Centre Engineering, Operations, or Networking experience
 High-level understanding of the data centre stack and at least two of the four constraints of the data centre – power, cooling, network connectivity, and space
 Ability to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data centre equipment and facilities
 Ability to define data centre system-level architecture
 Ability and willingness to think outside of the box
 Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability maintain high quality standards
 Ability to read drawings and red-line as needed
 Ability to perform physical tasks

Ideally you will have:
• Masters Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of lean principles
• Project Management Professional certification
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA
